Studio Time - Self Directed

Between Tuesday 8 September 2026 and Tuesday 29 December 2026
Studio Time is a casual self directed and self paced opportunity to create among a group of other clay-lovers. There is a large work space, four pottery wheels, a slab roller, equipment and tools. Several types of clay are available for purchase at $12/kilo (including two firings and glazing). Just bring along your creativity and an apron if you plan on getting muddy! This session is not a structured class; however, an experienced potter is always available to assist and answer questions. Studio Time is best suited to those with some prior experience working with clay. Beginners are welcome, but it is recommended that you arrive with a basic idea of what you would like to make and some familiarity with the process (e.g. having watched an introductory video/reels). Please feel free to email us if you have any concerns or questions prior to signing up. *Please note* If you want to glaze your pottery, you will need to return for a second session following the initial bisque fire to complete your work (allow at least two weeks). Suitable for persons aged 15 and over.

Mini Potters aged 8-12 (8 Week Course) T4 2026

Tuesday 13 October 2026
The Mini Potters Program is an eight-week creative pottery course for children aged 8-12. It offers a fun, inclusive and welcoming space where kids can slow down, get their hands into clay and explore their own creative style. Our classes are designed to support confidence, mindfulness and nervous system regulation through calm, hands-on creative play. Rather than focusing on making everything look the same, we encourage each child to experiment, follow their ideas and develop their own artistic voice. There is no “right” way to create at our studio. Students will learn and practice a range of hand-building pottery techniques, with a focus on creating sculptures, characters, creatures and other imaginative artworks. Some children may also choose to make functional pieces such as cups, bowls or small vessels, depending on their interests and ideas. Techniques and project ideas will be demonstrated, but there is always plenty of room for individuality, problem-solving and creative freedom. The program is suitable for beginners, quieter or less confident children, and experienced young makers looking for more opportunities to experiment. We aim to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable taking creative risks, making mistakes and feeling proud of what they create. Classes run weekly on Tuesdays from 21 July to 8 September, from 3.30-5.00 pm. The final few minutes of each class are used to clean and care for our shared workspace. Make-up lessons are not available. Please read our terms and conditions before booking. Classes run weekly on Tuesdays from October 13 to December 1 between 3.30 - 5.00pm. The last few minutes of class are focused on cleaning our workspace. Make-up lessons are not available. Please read our terms prior to booking. The course facilitator is local artist and photographer Nina Denning. *Our studio is LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming. We welcome young people of all identities, communication styles and ways of engaging, and aim to create a space where everyone feels safe to be themselves.
