Make a Leather Sheath for your Sharp Edged Tool!

Here's your chance to learn some basic leatherwork skills as you make a protective sheath for one of your edge tools like your axe, sloyd knife or drawknife. Bring your tool along! For those who recently made their own Sloyd Knife, here is your chance to make your custom sheath for your knife. Maybe you have a Draw Knife which could do with a sheath to protect both the sharp edge and your fingers as you handle it. So many possibilities! Come and learn some basic leatherworking skills as you make your custom sheath. Open to men and women from anywhere in Perth, young and old, minimum age 12. Kids must be accompanied by a participating paid up adult. This could be a great experience to share with your offspring. Maximum number of workshop participants is 8. Cost per entry ticket is $99 incl.GST. Admit one person. NOTE: Everybody entering the workshop space must wear sturdy covered shoes. No open toed shoes, no Crocs, no pumps - the whole foot covered. Demystifying the Dovetail Joint

There is so much mystique around the Dovetail Joint - these days it is synonymous with quality. However it is really just a practical joint which dates back to the ancient Egyptians. In this workshop we will strip away the mystique and learn to cut these wonderful joints by hand. Great for building your confidence with the saw, chisel, and marking out skills. It is also a lot of fun. Come join us on this woodworking adventure. Open to men and women from anywhere in Perth, young and old, minimum age 12. Carve a Spoon from Seasoned Wood.

Spoon carving has been taking the world by storm. Join us in this wonderful creative activity to craft cooking spoons from a variety of seasoned woods. Learn how to plan & to make a spoon using a range of traditional hand tools & techniques. No prior woodworking experience necessary. This workshop provides a great opportunity to begin a woodworking journey of discovery. Even if you are a seasoned woodworker, there are always new things to learn & experience. Warning!
