The Post and Rung Stool is a traditional 4 legged stool with a woven top.
This is a 3 part workshop, over 3 consecutive Wednesday evenings. In this case, Wed 29 July, August 5, and August 12, 2026.
We will use drawknives and spokeshaves on a shaving horse or at the bench to shape our legs and rails, and saw, drill and glue these rails into place. We aim to oil the completed frame by the end of session 2. Then during session 3 we will weave our tops onto the frame in either a simple weave or a herringbone pattern - thus completing our beautiful stools. What an amazing journey this will be!
This will be a lot of fun and physical, but no previous experience is necessary.
Open to people of any gender from anywhere in Perth, young and old, minimum age 12. Kids must be accompanied by a participating paid up adult. This could be a great experience to share with your offspring. Maximum number of workshop participants is 8.
Cost per entry ticket is $350 incl.GST. Admit one person.
NOTE: Everybody entering the workshop space must wear sturdy covered shoes. No open toed shoes, no Crocs, no pumps - the whole foot covered.
Location: 89C Briggs Street, Carlisle 6101, WA.
