ONLINE LECTURE - JULES VERNE & AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS!

In 1873, author Jules Verne published 'Around the World in Eighty Days" which would go on to become one of his most celebrated literary works. it is the story Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a wager of £20,000 (equivalent to £1.9 million in 2019) set by his friends at the Reform Club. In this lecture marking we take a look the author and his work that captured the world's imagination.
