Psychedelics & the treatment of mental health disorders

About
The prevalence and severity of mental ill-health in Australia and many parts of the world has not generally improved during the preceding few decades, despite substantial effort and funding. Within this context of unmet need, two psychedelic-based therapies are being made conditionally available from July 2023 in Australia, ahead of the adequate evidence required to register new medicines. While the likely accessibility of these treatments remains unclear, this represents a significant shift in the treatment landscape, and is added impetus for healthcare professionals across Australia to expand their knowledge of psychedelic-assisted therapies, and what would be required to responsibly engage in delivering this unique class of treatments. Please join us for an evening of education with one of Australia's leading clinical psychedelic researchers, Dr Paul Liknaitzky (Head of Clinical Psychedelic Research at Monash University).Location
