History of the Hope Diamond Discover the history of the Hope diamond, from the mining of the Tavernier Blue diamond, its metamorphosis into the French blue, and creation of the Hope diamond. This presentation summarises the research performed for the Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel programs about the Hope. See how the latest in forensics and computer modeling show the history of the Hope, with a surprise ending about the missing 20 years of history between the theft of the French blue the Hope's appearance. Scott Sucher has been stonecutting for more than 40 years. He has created historic diamond replicas that are on display in museums around the world and housed in historic gem displays, like the original stand for the Koh-I-Noor diamond (before re-cutting) at Queen Victoria’s Great Exhibition of 1851. The 'Stonecutter’s Scott Sucher' is recognized around the world as an expert on historic diamonds and for his expertise in gem cutting. Adding to Scott’s unique credentials is the fact that Scott is something of an anomaly in the trade—a self-trained stonecutter. |
