The 5 Lands walk is an annual event that includes a 10km walk along the beautiful Central Coast coastline. Short descriptions of the event and walk below are from the 5 Lands Walk web page:
About the 5 Lands Walk event
The 5 Lands Walk is a unique Australian event, a collaboration between the Aboriginal peoples and the broader communities of Darkinjung Country: the artists, the surf clubs, the schools, the local businesses. It is a gift from over 700 volunteers and sponsors creating a free, day-long celebration where people from diverse walks of life and cultural backgrounds connect through walking together and experiencing Aboriginal culture, live music, art exhibitions, sculptural installations, and more.
About the 5 Lands Walk
The walk connects 5 coastal villages, each bringing its own celebration in and around the surf clubs of the 5 Lands. They are connected by 10km of beaches, headlands, bush, footpaths and streets.
Along the way, you will experience Aboriginal ceremony and culture, music, food, artworks, gigantic kites, whales, dance, sculptures on the beach and craft workshops. The schools of the Central Coast and many different ethnic communities will proudly share their culture, stories and artworks with you.
Cost
$10 per person for the weekend walks (Sat + Sun), whether you walk one or two days.
