State History Conference of Affiliated Societies

The State History Conference of Affiliated Societies will be hosted by the Irwin Districts Historical Society in Dongara from 6-8 September. The weekend promises to be full of interesting speakers and events and starts with a Welcome Event in Port Denison on Friday night. The Conference Proceedings will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday mornings in the recently conserved Priory Hotel, with a wide array of speakers addressing the topic Waves of Change. In the afternoons attendees are invited on walking and bus tours to places of historic significance. The Conference Dinner on Saturday night will be a celebration of local hospitality, in line with a Conference objective “to acknowledge and celebrate volunteers in local history and heritage”.
