Guide Pals Literacy Program (SOLD OUT)

About
Reading skills and engagement are crucial to children's emotional and personal development. Unfortunately, for many young readers, psychological barriers (anxiety, embarrassment, shyness) can have a significant impact on their reading attainment. Interestingly, there is growing evidence that reading out loud to a dog results in an increase of confidence and promotes long-lasting, positive attitudes toward reading in children.Presenting the Guide Pals Literacy Program! We provide a non-judgemental environment in which children can build their literacy competency and engagement by reading to a comforting furry friend. Bring your favourite book or choose from one of our favourites. Our fully trained guide dogs (like Quincy featured above) are ready to listen free of criticism!
Our event is completely free and suitable for ages 6-12.
