Building wellbeing literacy through everyday self-care

Building wellbeing literacy through everyday self-care

hero

Join Edith Cowan University for the third event in the 2024 ECU Lecture Series.Self-care is not about commercialised wellness trends - it draws from wellbeing science. It encourages you to be proactive in developing, maintaining, and protecting your health.

To improve your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing is not always a simple process. It requires effort, time, and self-reflection. In practice, self-care can be a transformative experience, with the added benefit of leading you to be more capable at caring for others.

In this presentation, Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow and Professor of Education, Narelle Lemon, will explore a new relational approach to self-care, and share research on women’s wellbeing, everyday self-care, and professional settings.

Professor Lemon argues that by building a wellbeing literacy that considers communication for and about wellbeing, we will explore the transformative potential of self-care as a vital act within our daily lives.

This event is open to the public. Registrations are essential.
