Russian Masterpieces
Russian Masterpieces celebrates the music of the Russian Empire, in all of its colour, glitz and opulence. The concert features the rollicking passion of Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila and the grandeur of Borodin’s dramatic Polovtsian Dances. Soloist Jess Berton will join the orchestra in Glazunov’s beloved Concerto for Saxophone, a highly accessible work highlighting the colours of the instrument through folkloric melodies.
