Coogee SLSC - Summer Bronze Medallion Course 2026
About
This Bronze Medallion course is for anyone who wishes to patrol at Coogee Beach. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver at Coogee or anywhere else in Australia. You will learn surf skills, resuscitation techniques, basic first aid, rescue techniques, and more.Information Session: tba

First Aid course: 1 February 2026
Classroom: Tuesdays 6.30 - 9pm, 3 February to 24 March 2026
Beach: Saturdays 8 - 10am, 7 February to 28 March 2026
Assessment Part A: 24 March 2026
Assessment Part B: 28 March 2026
Graduation: 29 March 2026
To qualify for the Course you need to:
• Be aged 15 years old or over
• 400m swim in the ocean in 9 minutes or under
Enrolments close 18 January 2026.
Course costs
New Member - 18 years and over: $400
New Member - 15-18 years old: $300
*First Aid: $70
*All course participants must complete the First Aid course.
Those who hold a current First Aid certificate with more than 18 months remaining before expiration are required to email a copy of their certificate to admin@coogeeslsc.com.au.
