Big Emotions and Co-regulation (Secondary school session)
About
In Term 4, Inner East Student Support Services will facilitate a professional learning session for Inner East schools, with a focus on supporting students to manage big emotions and developing co-regulation strategies. Separate sessions will be offered for primary school staff and secondary school staff. The sessions will be co-presented by Sarah Matta, social worker, and Madeline Stainsby, psychologist, from Student Support Services. Together, they will explore practical approaches to recognising and responding to students’ emotional needs in the classroom. School staff will have the opportunity to reflect on their current practice and identify strategies that can be implemented in their own settings. Time will be allocated for questions and discussion during each session.
Please note that enquires about specific students are not able to be addressed during the session.
