Farewell Sydney's "Orana" buses
Join the Sydney Bus Museum and Transit Systems as we farewell the first-generation low floor buses in Sydney, and the “Orana” body that revolutionised the look of modern buses in Sydney, produced by Ansair, Austral-Pacific and Phoenix in the Mid to late 90’s.
The First Low Foor Scania Bus, 3511 now owned and preserved by the Sydney Bus Museum, entered service in 1994, with production models commencing service from late 1995 through to 1998. The Volvo B10BLE Buses also started service in 1997 and were delivered up until 1999.
The tour will commence at 11am Eddy Avenue, Central Station, Stand D, on Sunday 9th November 2025, touring the Marrickville, Rockdale, Sans Souci, Kingsgrove and Burwood Areas, before being joined by Volvo B10BLE buses for a trip to Cabarita, Homebush Bay and back into the City.
All 4 buses will be posed for a photo at the end of the tour, at 6pm.
Thank you to Transit Systems NSW for their ongoing support and for making this tour possible.
