About
For many new students, travelling to VCASS may be the first time they use public transport on their own. This can be a very daunting prospect for both parents and new students alike.The VCASS Parents and Friends Association (PFA) have introduced a new process to assist called “Travel buddies”. This initiative aims to pair up a new student with an existing student, travelling on the same mode of transport from similar areas.
As the majority of students at VCASS travel a considerable distance to school, we have a wonderful network of students able to volunteer in this ‘buddy’ system to help new students for the first few days or weeks.
We aim to make these connections at the end of the school year so that new students start their VCASS schooling, already knowing their ‘travel buddy’.
