On Friday night, May 1, 2026, our students will set off on an exciting cultural adventure, travelling by train into the city to hear the Sydney Symphony Orchestra perform at the world-famous Sydney Opera House. The program includes the Australian premiere of Nigel Westlake’s When the Clock Strikes Me, a powerful and imaginative contemporary composition. Adding to the excitement, Gustav Holst’s monumental The Planets Suite will be accompanied by a brand-new film, making its world premiere on the same evening—an extraordinary experience.Following the concert, students will stay overnight at the YHA in The Rocks, surrounded by the historic charm and atmosphere of one of Sydney’s oldest precincts. The next morning, they will enjoy a hearty breakfast together, offering the perfect chance to reflect on the music, the premiere performances, and share in the camaraderie of this special experience.
