Introduction to Buddhism - "Compassion In Tibetan Buddhism"
About
Compassion is the positive state of mind that wishes others to be free of suffering. It is considered in the beginning to be the seed of practice, in the middle the water that nurtures the practice and at the end the very fruit of practice. For this reason, the great teachers of the past and present have consistently praised compassion. In this short course we will take a deep dive into the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist approach to compassion and the related minds of equanimity, love and joy. We will also cover the stages of development of this mind as well as the 'Mind of Enlightenment', Bodhicitta, which is the intention to realise enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings. The course includes talks and guided meditations, led by Anthony Reid. He has been interested in Buddhist practice since the mid 1990's, studied with Ven. Khensur Rinpoche for many years and listened to a range of Tibetan teachers. Anthony has also visited some of Buddhism's most sacred sites in India and Tibet.
