Recognising the Complexity of Intersectionality in Practice
This session is delivered to the legal profession by the Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner (OADC). The session will consider the recognition of the complexity of intersectionality and practical steps to strengthen the profession through diversity and inclusion.

This session will provide an intrduction of the following areas:
- Recognising intersectionality
- Examining barriers to attracting and retaining lawyers in the legal profession
- Practical strategies for culture change, i.e. developing policies with an intersectional lens
- Benefits of a diverse and inclusive legal workforce, i.e. building a profession that reflects the community it serves

Venue Access: Please note that as the Society's building at 28 Murray Street, Hobart was built in 1876 there is no lift or disability access to the downstairs training area. The Society's building at 56 Charles Street, Launceston was built in 1860 and there is no lift or disability access to the upstairs rooms.
