About
Mental Health First Aid (Standard)Build the skills and confidence to notice when someone is struggling, start a safe conversation, and connect them with professional support. This practical, evidence-based course is designed for community members and workplaces in regional and rural NSW.
Two-day course:
You must attend Friday 21st November & Friday 28th November, 9:00 am–4:00 pm each day, to complete the training.
Cost and manuals:
Training is free
Manual: $27.50 per participant
Postage: $10 regular or $15 express (Australia Post)
After you register, you will be emailed an invoice for the manual and postage.
Please pay promptly so manuals can be ordered and delivered in time.
Manuals will be posted to the trainer and provided to participants on the day.

Registrations close Monday 10th November.
Food and refreshments:
Please bring your own food and drinks. The venue is close to shops if you prefer to purchase food nearby.
You will learn to:
-Recognise common mental health problems and warning signs
-Approach someone you are concerned about and listen without judgment
-Provide initial help using a simple action plan and encourage professional support
-Respond to crises such as suicidal thoughts and behaviours, panic attacks, substance misuse, and traumatic events
-Look after your own wellbeing while supporting others
Who should attend:
Anyone 18+ who wants practical tools to support friends, family, colleagues, or community members. No prior knowledge is required.
Accreditation:
Participants who complete the full course and short online assessment become accredited Mental Health First Aiders (valid for three years).

This training teaches first aid for mental health. It is not counselling or therapy.
