Box Hill Cemetery Tour - Acknowledging Remembrance Day
This tour will recall the lives of men and women who served in various capacities during WW1 and WW2, in particular soldiers and nurses whose lives were greatly impacted by their wartime experiences. Gravesites and monuments to be visited include:
STEELE Family (3 brothers); Harold BLACK; Ralph ELLINGWORTH; Sgt Arthur SLADE; Adeline FANKHAUSER; Janet GAFF; Strapper Archibald JARMAN …and others, with brief discussion of the Dead Man’s Penny, Malta Connection and the Columbarium’s collection of urns containing soldiers’ ashes.
The tour will leave from outside the Administrative office, which is in the centre of the cemetery. Attendees should arrive 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
