General Information
1st Balcombe Heights Venturers and families are invited to assist in packing shoeboxes for disadvantaged children around the world with toys, hygiene items, school supplies and other fun gifts.
Each shoebox is carefully inspected and made ready for international shipment by volunteers. Volunteers serve annually at shoebox processing centres across Australia and in New Zealand.
Meet at the packing venue in Norwest at 6:30pm on the day where you will sort items and check the shoeboxes that have been donated. You can bring your own items to pack into your own shoebox, information on this can be found here: https://occ.samaritanspurse.org.au/home/pack-a-shoebox/
Attendees will not be able to pack your own shoebox at the processing centre, you should pack a shoebox of goodies in advance and bring it with you.
The minimum age for all volunteers is high school students.
Processing tables may not be a suitable height for wheelchair users. Due to WHS requirements, animals are not permitted on the property except for registered guide and assistance dogs which will need to be clearly identified at all times. Processing shoeboxes requires reasonable physical movement, including lifting, turning, and standing for long periods.
