Workshop 1: Secure Your Online Foundation - Tuesday 4th November - Laptop, mobile or tablet required.
• Break free from the mainstream: Switch to private email and VPN services that respect your digital rights.
• Take control of your browsing experience: Change your default browser and search engine to more private alternatives.
• Boost your digital defences: Discover and switch to more secure and private software solutions that can help protect your online activities.
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $50
Workshop 2: Data Liberation - Monday 10th November - Laptop, mobile or tablet required.
• Free your data: Learn how to download your data from major tech giants like Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Meta.
• Break free from Big Tech: Understand how to close or minimise your accounts with major tech companies and reduce your digital footprint.
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $50
Workshop 3: Ditch Windows, Upgrade to Linux - Monday 17th November - Laptop required. *
• Break free from Windows: Switch to a secure, open-source operating system that prioritizes your digital rights.
• Get familiar with Linux: Learn the basics of the Linux operating system and how to get started.
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $50 + $50 cash at door. This session is a more advanced session in which we guide you to change your current operating system from Windows to Linux. As part of this session, you will receive comprehensive "Getting Started Guide" to help with getting to know and use your new operating system.
Reducing Your Digital Footprint
In today's digital age, it's easy to leave behind a trail of personal data that's vulnerable to exploitation. By attending these workshops, you'll learn how to minimise your digital footprint and take control of your online presence. This includes:
• Reducing the amount of personal data shared with tech companies
• Limiting the reach of data brokers and advertisers
• Creating a more private and secure online identity

• A supportive, hands-on environment where you'll make real changes to your devices
• Expert guidance from Dan to ensure a smooth transition
• A deeper understanding of digital privacy and its importance
• Practical skills to enhance your online security and autonomy
*Please note, to participate in Workshop #3, you must have attended at least one of the first two workshops. The laptop you bring with you MUST be currently running Microsoft Windows.
