Auditions for 'The Count of Monte Cristo'
Revenge. Betrayal. Redemption.
The Count of Monte Cristo is a story of one man who loses everything—and fights his way back to claim justice in an unforgettable way. There's secret identities, daring escapes, hidden treasure, and the ultimate revenge plot. If you love drama, mystery, sword fights, and characters with serious flair—this is your chance to join a story that’s larger than life.
The show will be directed by Mr Stocker, and will run in the Middleton Theatre in the Camberwell Grammar School Performing Arts Centre from 6-8 May 2026.
AUDITION INFORMATION
- Auditions are only open to students who are currently in Year 8, 9 10 & 11 from Camberwell Grammar, Canterbury Girls' and Camberwell Girls' Grammar.
- Auditions will be run in a workshop format with 6 students in each session.
- Students should not miss class to audition.
- Script excerpts for auditions will be sent out the week before the auditions dates.
- Use your natural voice in auditions- no accents required.
- Please be aware this show contains violence and adult themes.
- Please note - we may not have room in the production for everyone who auditions.
- Please consider that regular rehearsals are held on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons. Whilst not all actors will be needed for every rehearsal, the show will require a large time comittment (particularly in the last 3 weeks leading to Opening Night).
CALLBACKS Please keep the date free
- Callbacks will be held on Friday 28 November- 4.00pm start for Canterbury Girls' and Camberwell Girls' Grammar students, 5.00pm start for Camberwell Grammar students (after Carol Choir). Please keep this time free in case you receive a callback.
- If you don't receive a callback, it doesn't mean you're not in the cast! Mr Stocker might just want to see a bit more from particular people.
FIRST CAST MEETING Please keep the date free
- Should you be selected to be in the Cast, you will be required to attend the first Cast Meeting from 4.00pm on Monday 8 December in the Middleton Theatre. Please keep this date free just in case.
