Holding Hope: Sharing Research Findings
About
Holding Hope: Sharing Research Findings: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Suicide Prevention in New South Wales (NSW)
Cygnet Centre for Peacebuilding and Transformation Ltd. together with Ngarruwan Ngadju First Peoples Health and Wellbeing Research Centre, University of Wollongong and the Indigenous Education and Research Centre, James Cook University, warmly invite you to a community workshop to share back the findings of an important three year research project (2021–2024).
This research was guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, knowledge and lived experiences and focused on understanding how we can better prevent suicide among our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in NSW.
We are now returning these findings to the communities who contributed, honouring the stories, strengths and wisdom shared throughout the project.
These workshops are an opportunity to:
• Hear the findings of the research in a safe and respectful space
• Honour the stories, strengths and wisdom shared by community throughout the project
• Talk together about what these findings mean for our families, services and communities
• Strengthen pathways for healing, resilience and self determination
• Receive a copy of the Holding Hope: Preventing Suicide among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Young People in New South Wales Community Report.
