Join us for a Masterclass on Peat Phenolic Compounds. This tasting moves beyond region to explore how specific molecules dictate the flavour of your whisky.
Why does one smoky whisky taste like an antiseptic bandage while another tastes like a sweet, woody campfire?
The answer is in the peat's composition.
For the month of November, we’ll look at how to identify the molecular flavour signatures—from rich inland smoke (Guaiacol) to intense coastal tar (Phenol) - giving you the expertise to select your perfect peated dram.
We will be having:

• Westland Peated American Single Malt American Whiskey
• Kilchoman Small Batch Release 2023 Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky
• Belgrove ‘Big Smokin’ Barrel’ 4 Year Old Australian Rye Whisky
• SMWS 138.17 (Nantou) Smoky Meringue Tang Single Malt Taiwanese Whisky
While whisky is of course provided for the tasting, you are also welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy with your meal (light meal provided).
Please make sure you bring your own glasses for the tasting, as glasses provided by the venue are limited.
