Join this fascinating walk back in time to visit the site of Canberra’s first European settlement in 1824, and to explore the Acton area. Acton peninsula is not only the birthplace of Canberra, its veritable Sydney Cove, but also where it grew up. From 1911, the detailed planning and construction of the National Capital was orchestrated from Acton until the 1940s. Explore the sites of early buildings and find out about the public servants and tradies who lived and worked here a century ago.Park and meet in the carpark on the opposite side of Lennox Crossing, Acton to Old Canberra House.
