Illume Learning is thrilled to be joined by the brilliant Kelsie Olds (the Occuplaytional Therapist) for the first time as they present this twilight workshop.
What really is regulation? And what really is dysregulation? And what the heck are you supposed to do when your kid is dysregulated, and you’re dysregulated, and everybody is dysregulated?
Kelsie Olds, the Occuplaytional Therapist, breaks down the components of regulation, problem-solving when dysregulated, and key strategies for supporting any kid/grownup team who are figuring this stuff out together, with a special emphasis on supporting kids with uniquely sensitive nervous systems - including those with a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile - that might have a harder time in traditional authoritarian settings.
ABOUT KELSIE
Kelsie Olds, also known as “The Occuplaytional Therapist,” is an occupational therapist who shares every day with thousands of people online—parents, teachers, fellow professionals, and adults healing their own childhoods—about the power of play in children's lives.
Kelsie has worked with kids in all kinds of settings: from rural Oklahoma, to an Air Force base in England, to their current home in Geelong, Victoria. Their experiences across different countries and systems give them a unique perspective on how healthcare and education shape childhood.
