Hands on Harps

A workshop by Greg WilsonGreg has been playing the harp for around 30 years.
He built his first harp at a workshop run by that well known harpist, Andy Rigby, and realized he should learn how to play it. Greg has since played in several ensembles including “Musical Mezzedes” “Fellowshipof the Strings”, “Springtide”, and the “Irini Ensemble”.
This workshop will cover the evolution of the harp, and the basic methods of tuning, playing and maintenance. He will have 6 harps to show and is hoping to have you playing the chords for a verysimple Irish tune.
Harps are beautiful.
This workshop is part of Seachtain de Chultúr na hÉireann (A Week of Irish Culture) hosted by Comhaltas Canberra and supported by the Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Program
