The Stairs are Moving
Aunt Petunia is dead and all Marjory and Dmitri want is to bury her. But at the funeral they are faced by an Aunt who won’t be buried, antagonists from their childhood, and stairs that are getting up and leaving. To bury her, they must confront their Aunt’s and their own dark history – even if it fights back.
“The Stairs are Moving” is a new, poetic work, mixing humour, tragedy and pathos to ask why bad things happen to good people.
Presented with the Melbourne Writers’ Theatre and La Mama
