The Other Wesley: Charles, Hymn-Writer and Churchman

Led by Robert Gribben this talk will explore the Methodist movement within the Church of England in the 18th Century which was founded by two of its priests, the Revs. John and Charles. John was its leader and overseer, but Charles began it. Both wrote hymns but Charles provided some of the most widely loved ones. John was inclined to break tradition if needed, whereas Charles remained closer to Anglican custom and belief.
