Normal Movement Workshop - Geelong
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This two day practical workshop is designed to assist therapists to develop their skills in observing typical movement and the variations of this. Learning how to actively assist a person to learn to move through handling is a key component of this workshop, as well as its translation into clinical practice in developmental disabilities.
The workshop will be held on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th May 2019, 9am - 5pm. The workshop costs $660 inc GST, plus booking fees.
This course forms one of the modules for the certificated Foundation Course for Paediatric Clinical Practice and must be completed prior to attending the clinical blocks. Alternatively, this workshop can also be completed as a stand alone course.
This course will focus on:
- Observation of typical movement,
- Facilitation and handling skills,
- Translation into clinical practice
The course is open to all paediatric therapists; physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists.
The workshop is predominantly practical, and involves both observation and hands-on facilitation practicals. Please bring a soft doll to use during the facilitation practicals, and wear comfortable clothing.
Catering will be provided. Please advise in the registration form of any dietary requirements.
