Meet the Author: Thomas Mayor on the Uluru Statement
Thomas Mayor is a Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait Islander) man born and living on Larrakia country (Darwin). Thomas was elected from the Darwin Dialogue on Constitutional reform to participate in the Uluru Convention and now travels around Australia, campaigning for the proposals set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and focusing on building power for First Nations people in the workplace and in the broader community. Thomas manages the 1 Voice Uluru website, 1voiceuluru.org, a go-to site for the ongoing process for constitutional recognition for Indigenous Australians.
Finding the Heart of the Nation is an important book that takes us into the lives of Indigenous people today, and offers constructive ideas about how we can live together, moving beyond the injustices of the past. Don't miss this very special evening with Thomas Mayor.
Tickets are $8 and include light refreshments, or you can purchase ticket + signed copy of the book for $40 (hardback book normally $40 on its own). Finding the Heart of the Nation will also be on sale on the night for $35 ($40 RRP)
