Acute Deterioration and Emergencies for Physician Trainees A.D.E.P.T
Course at a Glance
This is a 2 day course for year 2 Basic Physicians Trainees about to take on their first “med reg” role.
The course will enhance trainee’s skills and confidence in managing the acutely deteriorating medical patient, with an emphasis not only on core knowledge but the leadership skills required to lead a met call response.
We use a blended educational approach including interactive workshops, lectures and immersive simulations. Trainees will gain confidence in initiating treatment and ongoing managing of patients requiring medical high dependency level care in particular the use of inotropes, non-invasive ventilation and advanced arrhythmia management, considering both the rural and metropolitan based settings. The course will also include discussions and practice of Teamwork challenges and Goals of Care discussions with patients and their family.
Who can attend?
Any Year 2 Basic Physician Trainees - Please note there is pre reading/preparation required to ensure you can maximise your time on the course
Please note you have to complete approx 5 hours pre reading in latte including video's before you attend this course.
