Basic Auslan - School Holiday Classes

Fantastic opportunity during the school holidays to learn a new language in a week
Join other families at our Wembley Training facilities to learn together in a safe and fun environment
Auslan, or Australian Sign Language, is the language used by Australia's Deaf Community. Access Plus WA Deaf runs Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Auslan Classes all year round, offering the opportunity to learn about Deaf Culture, along with an introduction to this beautiful language.

Our Basic Auslan Course covers the following:

  • Deafness Awareness Training & Deaf Culture
  • Fingerspelling
  • Numbers & Counting
  • Dates & Times
  • Greetings, introductions and exchanging personal information
  • Question words - who, what, when, where, why, how
  • Colours
  • Food & drink
  • Talking about your surroundings, where you live and your family
  • Transport
  • Recreational activities
  • Other vocabulary and conversation skills


  • Children in year 2 and above
  • Children under the age of 15 - must be accompanied by a parent/guardian enrolled in the same course
  • Children aged 15-18 - written approval from parent/guardian required


  • $299 for 1 x parent and 1 x child (year 2 and above)
  • $150 for 1 x extra child (year 2 and above)
  • $200 for 1 x child only (15-18 years of age, written approval required)

You may cancel your booking at any time by emailing, however the following conditions apply:

  1. 14 days or more prior to the commencement of your course – full course fee refunded, less a $50 admin fee.
  2. Less than 14 days prior to the commencement of the course – no refund
