City of Stonnington: Women in the Workforce
Following excellent feedback, we are delighted to host 'Women in the Workforce' virtual seminars once more.
These seminars initially took place in September 2020. Both previous participants and new participants are encouraged to apply.
This free online program will support women whose employment and career have been impacted by COVID-19 to improve their confidence and employment prospects and prepare for when the job market improves.
History shows that times of economic downturn have a disproportionate impact upon women. This program is designed to educate, inform, inspire and support women to re-enter the workforce with tactical and practical advice.
Delivered initially by experienced mentor, trainer and leader Amanda Blesing, this free program will be provided via Zoom at 7pm on the 23rd of March and 20th of April, with further dates to be scheduled. Sessions are expected to run for approximately one hour.
Sessions will be interactive with the opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions. The program will be broken into two separate themes:
- How to write a winning cover letter
- How to win at interviews and land a great role - both face to face and via video
To take part in the session you will need an internet enabled computer, tablet or smartphone, a computer or tablet is preferred to follow and engage with onscreen presentations.
To ensure that sessions can remain interactive but controlled, enrolment numbers will be limited to 50 people and bookings are essential.. The program is open to everyone but preference will be given to people who live or were recently employed at a workplace in Stonnington.
