Early life interrelational trauma
This workshop will explore the effects of early life interrelational trauma from three perspectives and apply lenses including trauma theory, attachment theory and developmental theory. It will be overlaid and applied with a psychoanalytic lens to early life relational trauma from a lifespan perspective.
Aim of session
- To provide an overview of early life interrelational trauma
- To explore early life interrelational trauma from an object relations perspective
- To explore early life affect regulation
- To explore mentalization and the development of the self
- To explore a lifespan perspective on early life interrelational trauma
Learning objectives
- To gain an understanding of early life interrelational trauma through a psychoanalytic lens
- To understand and apply early life interrelational trauma theory to clinical cases to improve treatment outcomes
- To identify, understand and apply early life interrelational trauma theory in the context of psychoanalytic object relations theory

YOUR FACILITATOR
Therese Raulin is a child psychoanalytic psychotherapist who runs her own pratice in Malvern, Victoria. She offers psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults, and has a special interest in interpersonal trauma, early life and post-partum depression and attachment difficulties. She has held senior management positions responsible for clinical governance, therapeutic service delivery and innovation across various sectors. She is a current member of the Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Asutralia, the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists Association of Australia and the Australian Association of Infant Mental Health.
