THE MATHEMATICS OF LONGING
A play by Suzie Miller
Directed by Matt Monti
Thurs 8 - Sat 10 July, 7:30pm (3 shows only)
'Which bit do you love the most - the beginning, when everything seems possible, or the end when you have learned something - even if it fails?'
Australian playwright Suzie Miller weaves a story of heartache and longing that bends across time and space. Each 'event' is a piece of the puzzle, revealing a portrait of love, loss, and the pristine beauty of mathematics. Drama, poetry, and physical theatre meet in the Theatre Guild Student Society's 2021 premiere.
'Miller's piece finds the beauty in science and in theory and translates that beauty onto the stage almost effortlessly. It's raw, it's vulnerable and it's smart and it tells us that even with uncertainty there is hope and that it's okay not knowing the answer to all of the questions.'
