The Adventures of Dick Whittington & His Cat
Another live theatre show performed by The Wembley Theatre Company over three weekends in October. The Adventures of Dick Whittington and His Cat, a traditional pantomime, follows the English folk law tale of a legendary character, Dick Whittington, who becomes Lord Mayor of London and saves the rat-infested town.
The story will see Dick Whittington and his Cat visit London Town, get stranded on a desert island inhabited by strange cats and rats before finally returning to London with his fortune to marry the lovely Alice Fitzwarren. Dick's journey is not easy, though, with King Rat out to destroy him and Squire Crow intent of marrying Alice first. Expect the usual larger than life characters, bright costumes, jokes and songs.
