Introduction to Chair Yoga
22 November to 6 December 2021 (3 classes)
Mondays, 7.30pm - 8.00pm
Chair Yoga is a practice which applies modified yoga postures using the chair for support. It is suitable for those who find getting onto the floor difficult. Chair Yoga offers all the same benefits a traditional yoga practice entails including mental stillness and deep relaxation. This program can assist you to achieve the flexibility, health and mobility benefits of yoga.
Research conducted by the Rutgers’ School of Health Related Professions found that yoga can improve the quality of life for people living with MS. Read the Rutgers Research article.
THE PROGRAM
This three-week program is presented by Katherine Spargo. Katherine is passionate about providing accessible yoga for everyone regardless of background or ability. Katherine completed the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching with the Australian Yoga Academy and holds additional certificates in both Restorative Yoga and Chair Yoga.
Katherine also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Disability Studies along with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. And with a varied background in facilitation and dance, Katherine has always been drawn to a more gentle, slow version of yoga. Katherine is thrilled to be offering Chair Yoga to the MS community.
Please Note: This program is suited to clients with moderate ability who are able to mobilise independently.
SESSION TIME AND DATES
This three-week series* will run from 7.30pm to 8.00pm on:

- Monday 29 November
- Monday 6 December
COST $30 for the 3-week series

*The weekly sessions will be recorded and made available each week for those who register. If you're unable to attend the live webinar at the scheduled time, you can view the session recording at a time convenient to you.
LOCATION This series is run by webinar so you can do it in the comfort of your own home. You will need a computer and internet connection.
