NEWPORT RAILWAY MUSEUM
-
The Newport Workshops Open Days are located over two sites. Included with your ticket is free entry to the Newport Railway Museum. Visit the 140 year old F176 or Victoria's largest locomotive, the famous Heavy Harry. Also open for viewing will be the heritage North Williamstown Signal Box, railway models and various suburban rail carriages dating from the 1888 'Swing Door' to the 1980 'Hitachi' and 1983 'Grey Ghost' carriages.
Food will be avaliable with Club Car ‘Moorabool’ serving light snacks & refreshments as well as Food Trucks and a sausage sizzle hosted by DERMPAV.
Toilets will be avaliable onsite.
A heritage shuttle bus will be operating over the three days, making a round trip picking up and setting down at Newport Station, Steamrail Newport Workshops (Open Days Location) and the Newport Railway Museum. This will be operated by 1953 AEC Regal Mk III ex M&MTB no. 592.
Our shuttle will be provided by a heritage 1950's bus. Due to the age and design of the bus, unfortunately there will be no wheelchair access.

COVID SAFE PRACTICES
Under current COVIDSafe practices, Face Masks are strongly recommended where physical distancing of 1.5 metres from others cannot be maintained.
All visitors will be required to have a purchased ticket with contact details of all persons attending to be retained for Contact Tracing purposes in line with current government advice. Visitors will be required to check into the QR Code provided at the entrance (please see Steamrail Staff to manually record your details if you do not have access to a smartphone) and in line with updated current government requirements, all visitors are required to be Double Vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend. Refunds will not be provided in the event you are unable to enter due to not being Double Vaccinated -
PROOF OF VACCINATION REQUIRED
As per government requirements, all visitors (16 years and over) will be required to show proof of Vaccination Status via the following methods -
COVID-19 digital certificate via the Service Victoria app.
COVID-19 digital certificate saved to a smartphone wallet.
Printed copy of COVID-19 digital certificate together with a valid photo ID.
Printed copy of immunisation history statement together with a valid photo ID.
Medical exemption together with a valid photo ID. -
Any visitors who experience any symptoms of COVID-19 prior to or on the day of the event, are not permitted to attend. Please contact us by replying to the email sent by Steamrail Victoria with your ticket details, to request a full refund of the ticket price* prior to the event.
In the event that the event is unable to operate due to COVID-19 restrictions, all visitors will be contacted via the email in which was provided at the time of your booking. Where an event can be rescheduled, tickets will be automatically transferred to the next available date. If you are unable to make the alternative date, please reply to our email within 7 days and a full refund of the ticket price* will be provided. Where an alternative date is unable to be provided, a full refund of the ticket price* will be provided by Steamrail Victoria within 7 days of the event date.
