National Reconciliation Week - Weaving workshop - AAEEWA

About
Reclaim the Void was born from Ngalia elders in Leonora, Western Australia, expressing their pain and grief at ‘those gaping mining holes left all over our country’. The idea was conceived to symbolically ‘seal’ one of the holes with an artwork expressing the story of country. Join us to learn how to create woven rag rugs.
The WA Chapter will host this workshop led by Jennifer Pearson. Please bring a hoola hoop or one created as suggested in the link below. 4cm strips of fabric, tearing the longest length of old sheet or doona. Or bring along and do it on the day. We will have some resources if you don't have any on hand, check out your local op shop.
There will be tea, coffee and snacks but if you have dietary requirements please bring your own snacks.
The Reclaim the Void project is led by Vivenne Robertson and links can be found at HTTPS://WWW.RECLAIMTHEVOID.COM.AU/ for the full story.
