Meet Golden Dragon Museum Collection Manger Megan Hall and enjoy a unique insight into what it takes to care for and preserve historic objects.Treasures of Dai Gum San, curated by Bendigo Art Gallery in collaboration with Bendigo’s Golden Dragon Museum, showcases exquisite artistry across the renowned collection of Bendigo’s Golden Dragon Museum.
Focusing on the refined craftsmanship of the late Qing Dynasty (1644 -1912), the exhibition explores the unique making practices of metalwork, cloisonné, fine silk embroidery, paper craft, and ornamental wood and stone carving brought to Australia by Chinese miners during the gold rush.
Today, the Museum plays a globally significant role in the preservation and continuation of Chinese artistic traditions, and in the story telling of Bendigo’s colonial history.
