An interactive half-day simulation course specifically designed to equip Hospital Medical Officers with a structured approach to the assessment and management of deteriorating patients on the ward. 

Course at a Glance

The HMO simulation program incorporates a number of interactive methods to generate discussion about the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients, and to highlight the important principles of effective teamwork skills that are known to enhance patient safety.  The course also covers other elements of patient management including the process for engaging with other departments for safe inter-departmental patient transfer. 
The HMO course includes the use of interactive videos for analysis, realistic clinical simulation scenarios and facilitated discussions to assist clinicians with improved confidence and competence when managing acutely unwell patients.  

Who can attend?

Any Hospital Medical Officer from all year/experience levels and from all departments are invited to attend this program.

Course Timings

The course commences at 8.00am and concludes at 12.00pm. To allow the course to run to time, registrants are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start time.
