Untold Stories: Writing Workshops
Don’t miss the chance to tell your story!
As part of the Untold Stories project funded by a Libraries for Health and Wellbeing Grant, we are holding two workshops for people connected to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Workshop 1: Poetry workshop with Ren Alessandra - Saturday January 14, 2023, 2-4pm
Ren is a national award-winning spoken word artist and English teacher who merges her love of both arts into active, engaging, and empowering writing workshops and performances. Her workshop will introduce attendees to poetry and guide them toward crafting poems to highlight their own experiences.
Workshop 2: Writing Workshop with Jess Walton - Saturday January 21, 2023, 2-4 pm
Jess Walton is a trans, queer, disabled writer and teacher who recently published a graphic novel for teens, ‘Stars in Their Eyes’. Her workshop will take attendees through a variety of writing exercises designed to prompt short creative writing pieces.
