Choristry is excited to partner with Sydney based Ristretto Chamber Choir to perform a concert of music inspired by the night sky and our place in the universe. Piano and a string quartet will accompany the choirs performing works by Ola Gjeilo, Ériks Ešenvalds, Arvo Pärt and a newly commissioned piece by young Australian composer Ella Macens Look Up – the Sky is Glowing. Choristry’s Artistic Director, Dan Walker has also arranged Sigur Rós’ stunning Starálfur and works by Depeche Mode.

Composer, conductor and performer Dan Walker is one of Australia’s most in-demand choral specialists. His compositional output includes commissions for Gondwana Voices, Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, Voyces Youth Choir, the Birralee Blokes, the Nittany Valley Children’s Choir of Pennsylvania, and Halcyon.
Choristry is a choral ensemble based in Melbourne, Australia. A fully auditioned choir, Choristry was formed with the express commitment of performing beautiful choral music at the highest standard. All members of Choristry are experienced vocal performers, many of them soloists in their own right. Established by Trevor Jones in 2008, the ensemble performs under the direction of conductor, composer and singer Dan Walker, who became artistic director in 2015.
The Ristretto Chamber Choir consists of 24-30 invited members of the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus who enjoy a musical challenge and an extended repertoire. Under the Artistic Direction of Michelle Leonard, Ristretto performs in a variety of concerts and private events.
