THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

- The Vagina Monologues is made up of monologues, created from interviews in 1996, read by women. Each monologue deals with aspects of the feminine experience, such as sex, love, birth, orgasm, etc. A major theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. The New York Times called the play the most important piece of political theatre of the last decade. The play highlights awareness toward working to end violence against women.
