Hobart Writers Festival Opening event
The Opening Ceremony will have a Welcome to Country by the inaugural 2017 Emerging Tasmanian Aboriginal Writer Award winner Adam Thompson.
A highlight of the Opening Ceremony is certain to be hearing Kartanya Maynard sing! Kartanya is a a trawlwoolway, Kaurna and Ngadjuri woman of Hobart.
During the opening ceremony, we will also hear from a local poet on the subject of their Tasmanian Landscape, which will introduce this year’s theme – My Tasmanian Landscape.
