TWS and WildThings NSW Workshops on “Meet Your MP” and “Writing effective submissions to Governments”
The Wilderness Society (TWS) and WildThings NSW would like to encourage more people to communicate with their elected representatives on a range of environmental, wildlife and habitat issues. These issues are important for the future persistence of Nature and ecosystems which are vital to the health of the environment and humans.
TWS and WildThings NSW have combined to hold two free-of-charge workshops to assist attendees to have more effective meetings with their MPs as well as be able to write more effective letters and other types of submissions to key decision makers. These outcomes will be mutually beneficial and rewarding for all parties.
When: Tuesday 29th October 13:00-16:30. Registration 12:30 to 13:00
Where: Meeting Room 1, Ku-ring-gai Gordon Library, 799 Pacific Highway (Opposite Ku-ring-gai Council Offices)
“Meet Your MP”. Presenter - Nat Rowed, TWS Sydney Community Organiser 13:00-14-30
It is important for a community to be better equipped to both engage with their local decision makers as well as develop strong relationships with them. This workshop will cover everything from how to secure a meeting, how to prepare, what to take with you, what to say in the meeting and then how to have a productive debrief and follow up on commitments made.
“Writing effective submissions to Governments” Presenter Suzanne Milthorpe, TWS National Laws Campaign Manager 14:45-16-30
This workshop will focus on how to write an effective letter and submission to key decision makers.
