Billy Elliot (HSC)
These interactive sessions are designed to enhance students’ understanding of their HSC texts as well as the writing process. The esteemed presenters will share their knowledge and respond to questions from students and teachers.
Dr Jessica Ford is a lecturer at the University of Newcastle. She is a co-founder of the Sydney Screen Studies Network and a contributing editor of MAI: Feminism and Visual Culture. Her research examines women and feminism on television and she has published on Roseanne, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Girls.
Dr Hamish Ford is a senior lecturer at the University of Newcastle, where he teaches a variety of screen culture courses. Author of the 2012 book, Post-War Modernist Cinema and Philosophy: Confronting Negativity and Time, Hamish has published extensively on 1960s European filmmakers and select world cinema. His current large-scale project is a co-edited special journal issue and subsequent book examining the global reception of Ingmar Bergman’s cinema.
