Creative Writing Workshop - Poetry (HSC)
These interactive sessions are designed to enhance students’ understanding of their HSC texts as well as the writing process. The esteemed presenters will share their knowledge and respond to questions from students and teachers.
Ed Wright is the best-selling author of six popular histories, a book of poems and an award-winning novella. He has a PhD in literature from the University of Sydney and is the director of The Creative Word Shop, a Newcastle writing school and editing service for adults and children. He is the fiction commissioning editor for the Puncher & Wattmann press and a literary critic for The Australian.
Chris Brown is a teacher and poet living in Newcastle. His poems have been published in Overland, Southerly, Cordite Poetry Review, and The Age. He is a past winner of the Roland Robinson Literary Award for Poetry. In 2017 bulky news press published Slender Volume, a chapbook of Chris’ poems. He is currently researching poetry and community politics
at the University of Newcastle.
