Coburg Farmers' Market Walking Tour -Urban Agriculture Month
To celebrate Urban Agriculture Month, Coburg Farmers Market and Moreland Council are excited to welcome you to the Farmers’ Market Walking Tour.
Meet your local Victorian farmers and small-scale producers, discover what's in season, see how seasonality influences flavour (and price) and discover new recipe ideas directly from the farmer. The Coburg Farmers' Market tour will showcase the diversity of our stallholders and (of course) include a few tasters along the way.
We will be stopping in at the berry farmer, the mushroom grower, the meat producer, the miso maker...to name a few!
The tour will be hosted by Nat Abboud, Moreland local and co-owner of famed Lygon St restaurant Rumi.
We’ll round-out the tour with a complimentary market treat, coffee or tea and a sit-down in front of some live music — a regular feature of all our markets — before paying a visit to our community nursery neighbour - Peppertree Place. Following the tour there’ll be ample time to do your weekly shopping and soak up the atmosphere of your local farmers' market.
This tour has been made possible thanks to the support of Moreland Council.
We’ll meet at the front entrance to Coburg Farmers Market (found on Urquhart St). Please arrive 5 minutes early so that we can start the tour on time.
